PARIS (Kyodo) Japan's reigning Olympic champion Masato Uchishiba toppled Frenchman Benjamin Darbelet to win the men's 66-kilogram final at the Grand Slam Paris judo meet Saturday.
Uchishiba scored a "yusei" points win over Darbelet in a rerun of last year's gold medal match at the Beijing Games.
There were also victories for Japanese judoka Emi Yamagishi and Yoshie Ueno in the women's program.
Yamagishi scored a yusei win over Frenchwoman Frederique Jossinet in the 48-kg final and Ueno beat Nozomi Hirai by "ippon" in an all-Japanese affair in the 63-kg category.
