SAPPORO (Kyodo) In-form veteran ski jumper Takanobu Okabe continued to dominate the domestic circuit Saturday, winning the NHK Cup for his seventh title in eight events this winter.

Okabe, a member of Japan’s gold medal-winning large hill team at the 1998 Nagano Olympics, scored 280.2 points on jumps of 135 meters, the day’s longest, and 131.5 meters on the K-120 Okurayama hill.

Noriaki Kasai came in a distant second with 255.7 points.

Daiki Ito placed third with 248.7, followed by Fumihisa Yumoto on 232.8 and Kazuyoshi Funaki on 231.5.

Izumi Yamada took the women’s title with 242.4.
