Tatsuhiko Kinjo, Ryoji Aikawa, Shunichi Murata and Yuki Yoshimura each homered as the Yokohama BayStars pounded the Hanshin Tigers 8-0 in the Central League on Wednesday.

Daisuke Miura pitched a shutout for the first time since July 7, 2007, striking out five and walking two in a 138-pitch outing at Yokohama Stadium.

Kinjo hit a two-run homer followed by Ryoji Aikawa’s solo blast for a 3-0 lead in the second inning. Yokohama went ahead 5-0 in the fifth before Murata hit a two-run shot and Yoshimura added a solo drive to cap the scoring in the seventh.

Central League leader Hanshin lost its fourth in a row and sixth straight against Yokohama.

Giants 10, Carp 9

At Osaka’s Kyocera Dome, Michihiro Ogasawara hit for the cycle in a 4-for-5 outing and Alex Ramirez had a three-run homer as Yomiuri held off a persistent Hiroshima.

Yomiuri took a 4-1 lead through the fourth, featuring Ogasawara’s two-run drive but Alex Ochoa leveled the score at 4-4 with a three-run homer in the fifth.

Takayuki Terauchi’s run-scoring double gave Yomiuri the lead for good in the seventh. Ogasawara added a run-scoring triple in the sixth and Ramirez’s drive in the eighth made it 10-6.

Ochoa, who went 2-for-4 with five RBIs, had a two-run double in the ninth and Yomiuri closer Marc Kroon threw wild pitch that pushed across another run before Shogo Kimura struck out to end the game.

Swallows 7, Dragons 3

At Jingu Stadium, Yasushi Iihara hit a tiebreaking three-run homer in a six-run fifth inning as Tokyo Yakult beat Chunichi to win its fourth in a row.

Shohei Tateyama (9-3) allowed three runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings. Takashi Ogasawara (8-9) took the loss.

At Chiba Marine Stadium, Fumiya Nishiguchi threw 6 2/3 shutout innings and three Seibu relievers closed the door on Chiba Lotte.
