Midfielder Makoto Hasebe made his debut for VfL Wolfsburg when he came on for the second half of a 1-0 away win at Arminia Bielefeld in the German first division on Saturday. Hasebe, who signed from Asian champions Urawa Reds last month, played a defensive midfield role but occasionally moved into more of an attacking position after Grafite headed home a cross from Santana in the 27th minute. Elsewhere, Shunsuke Nakamura helped Celtic crush Kilmarnock 5-1 for their quarterfinal spot in the Scottish Cup. Daisuke Matsui played the full 90 minutes as Le Mans crashed out of the French Cup after a 1-0 loss to Bordeaux.
