Unheralded Norio Shinozaki won a three-way playoff to capture the first title of his journeyman career at the ANA Open on Sunday. Shinozaki took full advantage of a wayward drive from Chawalit Plaphol on the fifth extra hole to seal the victory after overnight joint leader Yasuharu Imano was eliminated at Sapporo Golf Club's Wattsu Course.
