Japan scored twice in each half Sunday night to demolish Thailand 4-0 for Japan's second successive win in the final round of qualifiers for the women's soccer tournament at next year's Olympic Games in Beijing.

Japan controlled the match from the outset and Homare Sawa gave Japan a deserved lead in the 38th minute before Eri Arakawa headed a second three minutes later and Shinobu Ono scored two goals in the second half of the Group A match.

The Japanese women, who opened their campaign with a 2-0 win at home to Vietnam on April 7, now have six points from two games and will take on South Korea at home on June 3.
