Guido Buchwald will remain at the helm at Urawa Reds next season after the German manager was handed a new one-year contract by the J. League first-division club on Thursday.
In his first season in charge, the 44-year-old Buchwald guided Urawa to its first league crown with the 2004 second-stage title and led the Saitama club to a runnerup finish in this year's single-stage championship, finishing one point behind Gamba Osaka.
