SENDAI – The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles said Friday they have signed Taiwanese pitcher Lin Ying-chieh to a two-year contract. Lin was 12-10 with a 2.36 ERA for the Macoto Cobras in Taiwanese professional baseball this year and the 24-year-old left-hander has a 45-31 career record with a 2.66 ERA. The contract for Lin includes an estimated annual salary of 30 million yen and a 50 million yen signing bonus. He was a member of the Taiwanese national team in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
