Japan and Gamba Osaka striker Masashi Oguro has received an offer from French second-division club Grenoble, officials of the J. League first-division said Wednesday.

The offer came after Gamba clinched its first league championship Saturday, on the final day of the season. Gamba has offered Oguro a multiyear contract while the 25-year-old has shown interest in playing for an overseas club.

Oguro played a key role in Gamba's successful campaign by scoring 16 goals in 31 league appearances. He also helped Japan win its place in next year's World Cup finals in Germany.

Grenoble is owned by Japanese mobile content provider Index Corp., which bought the team in October last year.
