Yuri Fudo got off to a flying start to her campaign at the Sankyo Ladies Open on Friday, firing a course-record 63 to take a four-shot lead after the first round. Fudo made six birdies in a front-nine 30, including three straight from the opening hole, and added three birdies on the inward half in a bogey-free round at Akagi Country Club in Gunma Prefecture. South Korea's Lee Ji Hee and Hikaru Kobayashi shot 67s and are tied for second. Hiromi Mogi and Yui Kawahara followed a further stroke behind and are one shot ahead of Ku Yun Hee of South Korea, Toshimi Kimura and Mineko Nasu, who had 69s.
