Japan dropped to its second defeat in as many days in the Kirin international men's basketball tournament, allowing Turkey to come from behind for a 62-61 victory on Sunday.

Japan raced into a 20-9 lead after the opening period on a series of fast breaks but Turkey, which fielded its "B" national side, cut the lead to 29-24 at the halfway point and went up for good at 39-38 midway through the third period on a two-pointer by Ulug Kacaniku.

Turkey, led by a game-high 21 points from Rasim Basak, increased its advantage to 11 points at one point in the final quarter before holding off a late comeback attempt from Japan.
