Hiroyuki Fujita shot a 9-under-par 63 Thursday to take a three-shot lead after the opening round of the Munsingwear Open KSB Cup.
Fujita kept a deft putting touch throughout his round, making 10 birdies against a bogey at Tojigaoka Marine Hills Golf Club as he grabbed a first-round lead for the second straight week.
A week ago, Fujita shot an opening 65 in the Japan PGA Championship but eventually settled for fifth place, five shots behind winner S.K. Ho of South Korea.
Craig Jones of Australia finished the day in second place after a 66.
