Green Tsuda Gym, home to newly crowned WBC minimumweight champion Katsunari Takayama, said Wednesday it has decided to scrap a plan to auction off up-and-coming flyweight boxer Koki Kameda.

In an exceptionally rare move, the Osaka-based gym had been looking to offload the 18-year-old Kameda to the highest bidder as it could not respond to the boxer's needs while focusing on gearing up Takayama for his first title defense.

But the gym, which was set to put Kameda up at a starting price of 30 million yen, has instead decided to give Kameda three months to negotiate a deal with a new gym.
