Jolbert Cabrera hit his first homer in Japan and doubled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as the Softbank Hawks beat the Chiba Lotte Marines 5-4 in the Pacific League on Saturday.
Cabrera connected off Shunsuke Watanabe for a solo shot that gave the Hawks a 4-1 lead in the fourth and hit his tiebreaking double off Yasuhiko Yabuta (0-1) after Nagisa Arakaki gave up three runs in the seventh to tie the game at 4-all at Chiba Marine Stadium.
Yasushi Kamiuchi (1-0) got his first career win after working a hitless inning in relief and Koji Mise picked up the save for getting the final three outs.
