Motoyuki Futase went 2-for-5 with two RBIs to lead the attack as Toyama Shogyo advanced to the second round of the National High School Baseball Championship with a 10-5 triumph over Saga Gakuen on Monday.

Toyama Shogyo jumped to a 4-0 lead in the first inning and added three runs each in the third and sixth for the win over the Saga Prefecture school at Koshien Stadium.

In Tuesday's other games, Yuta Hirano singled home the opening run in the third inning and Chiba Keizaidai Fuzoku added three more runs the following frame en route to a 4-1 victory over Naruto Daiichi from Tokushima.

Tokaidai Kofu broke a 6-6 tie with five hits in the sixth inning on its way to an 11-6 victory in a 30-hit slugfest, while tournament debutant Sadowara from Miyazaki Prefecture took an early lead and held off Nagano's Tsukahara Seiun for a 3-1 victory.
