TOJO, Hyogo Pref. (Kyodo) Shingo Katayama reclaimed sole possession of the lead with a steady 4-under-par 68 in the third round of the ABC Championship on Saturday.

The Japan PGA winner capped his round with his fifth birdie of the afternoon on the 18th hole at ABC Golf Club to establish a two-stroke advantage over Katsumasa Miyamoto and Hiroyuki Fujita on 15-under 201.

“I’ve been taking it easy this week and feel like I’ve got the same vibe I had at the end of the 2000 season,” said Katayama, who won three out of the last four tournaments of the season that year.

Takesue stays in front

Hiromi Takesue fired a 6-under 66 for a one-shot lead after the second round of 50 million yen Masters GC Ladies at Masters Golf Club in Miki, Hyogo Prefecture, on Saturday.

A further stroke back lies Miho Koga, who also shot a 66 with Taiwan’s Tu Ai-yu and Australian Karie Webb, two and three off the lead respectively.
