MIYOSHI, Aichi Pref. (Kyodo) Daisuke Maruyama, winless in his 10-year career, holed out with a 6-under-par 66 for the best score so far at the Georgia Tokai Classic, taking sole possession of the lead after the second round of the 120 million yen event on Friday.

Maruyama, who teed off among the final group with a one-stroke deficit, carded five of his day's eight birdies before the turn with his only flaw -- a double bogey -- coming on the par-3 16th to stay three shots clear of Nozomi Kawahara with a 10-under 134 total.
