Mongolian grand champion Asashoryu showed kind of the form that earned him his fourth Emperor’s Cup at the autumn basho in Tokyo last month as he rolled to victory Sunday in the Nagoya Championship sumo tournament.

Asashoryu won his preliminary group at Nagoya Sports Complex by throwing down maegashira Toki and disposed of Kotomitsuki and Kotonowaka in the three-way championship playoff to win his first title in two years and the top prize of 3 million yen.
