Seven-time All-Star forward Michael Takahashi is among the 16 members named to the men's national squad for the upcoming Europe training tour, the Japan Basketball Association said Sunday.
Takahashi will be joining his teammates, including 18-year-old twin brothers Kosuke and Joji Takeuchi of Keio University and Tokai University, respectively, for the May 31-July 2 trip to Croatia, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Takahashi, whose father is American and mother Japanese and himself a naturalized Japanese citizen, had left the Yokohama Giga Cats last December after failing to reach an accord with the manager regarding the future of the newly formed club.
