PHOENIX – Ichiro Suzuki drove in three runs on two hits Tuesday to lead the Seattle Mariners to a 6-4 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers in a preseason exhibition game.
Ichiro, the 2001 American League MVP, hit an infield grounder in his first at-bat before his bases-loaded single made it 2-0 in the second inning. Suzuki’s third RBI came in the sixth on a sacrifice fly.
In Port St. Lucie, Fla., Satoru Komiyama struck out two and allowed one hit in three scoreless innings of relief as the New York Mets downed the Kansas City Royals 4-0.
