The physical fitness levels of women in their 30s and 40s declined in 2024 compared to 1998 levels as more women are busy working and/or raising children, according to a recent survey released by the Sports Agency.
The annual survey, which was released Sunday, is on a five-level scale from A to E, with A being the highest. Women ages 35 to 39 who scored level C and higher declined from close to 70% in 1998 to 53% in 2024.
The agency said it will expand employer and community-based programs to get more women of the age group moving and fund municipal efforts to build daily exercise habits, as well as promote sports programs in corporate spheres.
