Digital TV broadcasts to mobile phones are scheduled to begin in April, and expectations are high the new service will create a portable fusion of broadcasting and the Internet.

The new service will let users view their favorite shows and interact with the content, such as by downloading music or actors' biographies, all through the convenience of wireless communications.

TV stations and cell phone carriers expect the new broadcasting service to become a new source of revenue if they can lure enough viewers to shopping or other fee-based sites while watching TV.
