A group of Ground Self-Defense Force members returned home Saturday after winding up a six-month logistical support mission for the GSDF's main contingent providing humanitarian and reconstruction work in Iraq.
About 100 members assigned to the mission in the second batch of its kind arrived at Tokyo's Haneda airport in the morning, GSDF officials said.
The troops performed rear-support duties such as delivering supplies since mid-summer for the GSDF's main contingent in the southern city of Samawah.
