Through Feb. 28, the Grand Hyatt Tokyo is offering special winter menus featuring various nabe (hot pot) dishes at its restaurants to warm guests up during the cold winter season.

The French Kitchen is serving a special winter casserole menu that includes salad, a terrine and all-you-can-drink sparkling wine for 90 minutes. Guests can choose their terrine from three selections of the day, as well as one main casserole dish from five selections of the month, including braised Japanese beef cheeks with potato puree and vegetable a la creme; cassoulet with lamb and tomatoes with thyme; and prawn, scallop and fresh fish with a saffron cream sauce. The special dinner is available from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for ¥6,500 with tax included (service fees are not included).

A wide variety of unique nabe dishes are also available at other dining facilities at the hotel, such as Japanese restaurant Shunbou, steakhouse The Oak Door, Chinese restaurant Chinaroom and teppanyaki restaurant Keyakizaka.

Valentine’s special in Shibuya

In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of its opening, the Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel in the Shibuya area of Tokyo is offering a series of promotions based around Saint Valentine’s Day.

A Valentine’s accommodation package through Feb. 14 includes a stay in a deluxe twin or king room on a City View floor (19-24th floors), personalized chocolates, a half bottle of Champagne and breakfast. Rooms feature a luxurious bathroom with a large window that offers guests a magnificent view of the city. The package is for two people staying together and costs ¥54,000 for Saturdays, and ¥51,000 for weekdays and Sundays.

As part of the Valentine’s specials, the pastry shop is offering assorted boxes of chocolates through Feb. 14. Also, Coucagno on the 40th floor will serve a Valentine’s dinner from Feb. 12 to 14, while the bar Bello Visto on the same floor is serving their original chocolate dessert cocktails, Heart White and Black Rose, through Feb. 28. Meanwhile, Caramelo in the lobby will be serving a Valentine’s special dinner from Feb. 10 to 14.

Sweet moments in Yokohama

The InterContinental Yokohama Grand has a wide range of special offers for the Valentine’s Day and White Day season.

Through March 31, a special accommodation package called Happy Sweet Moment is being offered. Guests can enjoy a romantic moment over sparkling wine and take in breathtaking views of Yokohama. The package includes a one-night stay in a superior room with a choice of city or bay view, a mini bottle of sparkling wine, the hotel’s original box of chocolates, a novelty teddy bear and late checkout. The rate per person for a superior room (double occupancy) starts from ¥9,500 for city views and ¥10,500 for bay views. Tax and service charges are included.

The Patisserie is offering five-piece (¥525) and 10-piece (¥1,050) boxes of high-quality chocolates through Feb. 14. Also, the Marine Blue lounge and bar will hold a Valentine’s Day special event on Feb. 14 and 15, featuring a chocolate fountain and a tasting of three strawberry brands (Tochiotome, Amaou, Benihoppe) for ¥2,200, ¥1,500 for children.

Through Feb. 14, the romantic Starboard and Marine Blue bars are serving special cocktails using Godiva liqueur for ¥1,550 each, accompanied with a chocolate-flavored fortune cookie.
