The IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan is offering a special winter package called the kaiteki (comfortable) business plan through Feb. 28.

The package includes free pay TV channels and a free drink from a selection of beverages available in the hotel-room mini bar or at designated hotel facilities.

Seasonal crab dishes on offer

Special dishes are being offered at restaurants in the Shiba Park Hotel in Tokyo to mark the winter crab season.

Chinese restaurant Peking is offering a special crab dinner course using snow crabs, Shanghai crabs and red king crabs at ¥8,400 per person.

Restaurant Tateru Yoshino Shiba is serving a special amuse-bouche, horsehair crab gelee and cauliflower espuma (Spanish for foam) topped with caviar, as part of its ¥15,750 course.

Japanese restaurant Hanasanshou is offering seasonal dishes every month. For January, the dish is zuwaigani surinagashi (a Japanese-style soup of pureed snow crab meat) for ¥1,890, and it will be kani no kinutamaki (vinegared crab roll) in February. Coffee shop Primula is offering blue crab pasta with tomato sauce for ¥1,575. King crab croquettes are also available at lunch for ¥1,680 and at dinner for ¥2,940.

The specials are available through Feb. 28.

Hakone stay plan for women

The Odakyu Hotel de Yama in Hakone is offering its Hotel de Yama Story plan through March 31.

Reopened last April with newly renovated guest rooms, the hotel is welcoming guests for its first winter season. The plan is a limited-time accommodation package designed for women to enjoy the most the hotel can offer. The package includes a one-night stay in a newly renovated room; the use of the hotel’s natural onsen (hot springs); a healthy gourmet dinner course named Spa Cuisine and breakfast at the hotel’s restaurants; and homemade apple pie with vanilla ice cream at Salon de The Rosage.

One of the highlights of the package is a 45-minute spa treatment at Spa Montagne, which has breathtaking views of Lake Ashi.

Rates for a room with two single beds are ¥32,050 per person on weekdays, Sundays and national holidays; ¥35,050 per person on Saturdays; and ¥38,050 per person on March 19 and 20. Service charges and taxes are included.
