Tokyo: Meiji-jingu Haru-no Taisai

Annual Spring Festival of the shrine. Several events such as Noh, Kyogen (Noh farce) and Sankyoku (songs and the music of three traditional Japanese musical instruments); Koto (Japanese harp), Shakuhachi (bamboo flute) and Shamisen (banjo-like instrument) are held in the shrine precincts.

Schedule & Key events:
● May 2 from 11:45 a.m.: Noh & Kyogen performance
from 3:45 p.m.: Traditional Japanese music and dance
● May 3 from 9 a.m.: Kyudo (Japanese archery) performance in Shiseikan
from 11:30 a.m.: Japanese folk entertainments
from noon: Sankyoku performance
from 2:30 p.m.: Satsuma-Biwa (Japanese lute) performance

Location: Meiji-jingu Shrine, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo

(1) JR Yamanote Line to Harajuku Sta.(Omotesando Exit), and then walk 5 min. (2) Tokyo Metro Chiyoda or Fukutoshin Line to Meiji-Jingumae Sta. (C03, F15)(Exit 2), and then walk 5 min.
