Suisen Misaki no Kagayaki

You don't need to be a plant lover to be mesmerized by the rocky cliffs of Echizen, Fukui Prefecture, where Japan's largest swathes of suisen (daffodils), also known as narcissus, grow.

Much like the Greek mythological figure the flower is named after, these bulbous blooms are beautiful and although the season to see them in full bloom has passed, Echizen Suisen Land will decorate its fields with 16,100 LED lights meant to resemble the flowers from March 24 to May 26. The lights will change color every 30 minutes from white and gold to green and purple. (Yuki Yamauchi)
