Kyoto: Baika-sai

Ume (Japanese apricot) Blossom Festival. There are 1,500 apricot trees of 50 species in the garden which is open to the public from the beginning of February to the middle of March, depending on the flowering. Admission to the garden is 800. Fee for Nodate (open-air tea ceremony) is 2,000 per person.

9 a.m.-4 p.m. Apricot garden is open
10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nodate is held near Sanko-mon Gate

From JR Kyoto Sta., take municipal bus No. 50 or 101 to Kitano Tenmangu-mae Bus Stop (30 min.)
