A camera targeted at an ATM is a prudent security measure. Sweeping CCTV installed in the hopes of catching some undefined act of wrongdoing is a violation of privacy, expensive, and ineffective.

Usually I don't worry about it. I think it's good as long as it's not in my room. I think they protect us from street crime. The rate of street crime is rising in Japan.

In my occupation I have to use cameras, so I think it's a moral matter for the person who uses the images. If it's for security I think it's OK.

Depends on where they are placed. In places where they are used for crime prevention (department stores, stations) they would not be a violation, but having it in someone's home I don't really agree with.
