Kurumi Nara made an early exit from the French Open on Sunday, losing in three sets to Barbora Strycova.

The Czech, ranked 26th in the world and the 26th seed at Roland Garros, beat Nara 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 in 2 hours, 28 minutes. Nara, ranked 94th in the world, is now without a French Open win for five straight years.

Trailing 3-4 in the final set, Nara won the first three points against Strycova's serve, but then lost the next five as her opponent held serve and took a commanding lead.

Kei Nishikori followed Nara onto Court 1 for his match against France's Maxime Janvier, ranked 304th in the world, while Yoshihito Nishioka was set to take on 30th seed Fernando Verdasco of Spain.
