RIO DE JANEIRO – Japan’s women’s 470 class sailing duo of Ai Yoshida and Miho Yoshioka dropped to sixth after two more races at the Rio Olympics on Sunday, but remain just four points off bronze with three races remaining.
After leading the fleet in the early stages of the regatta the Japanese crew has slowly fallen back with a series of middling performances, but in sailing at the Olympic Games consistency is key and that has allowed them to stay in contention.
