FUKUOKA – Tsuyoshi Wada held the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters to two runs in eight innings and earned his Pacific-League leading 12th win of the season as the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks won 3-2 on Friday.
Wada (12-3) fanned 10 as he allowed five hits and a walk in a 120-pitch outing, surrendering his only runs in the first when designated hitter Shohei Otani hit a two-out single and Sho Nakata belted a first-pitch fastball over the center-field wall.
