Sagan Tosu announced on Monday that midfielder Jumpei Kusukami has signed a full transfer deal with former Asian champion Western Sydney Wanderers.

Kusukami has not been the preferred choice of manager Massimo Ficcadenti since joining Tosu this season from Cerezo Osaka, appearing in just one league game.

Western Sydney, which won the 2014 Asian Champions League, is familiar with Japanese players, having signed former Japan internationals Shinji Ono and Yojiro Takahagi in the past.

"It was not easy deciding to leave Sagan Tosu halfway through the season, but I hope I can become a better player through this experience," Kusukami said in a statement.
