Ayako Uehara hit a 2-over 74 and dropped into a tie for 26th at the Cambia Portland Classic after the second round on Friday.

Compatriot Sakura Yokomine moved up to 18th after shooting a 2-under 70 on three birdies and a bogey at the par-72 Columbia Edgewater Country Club, eight strokes behind overnight leader Brooke Henderson of Canada and Suzann Pettersen of Norway, both on 133.

Uehara, who started the day in fifth, carded a birdie and three bogeys in her afternoon start. A day after exploiting soft greens in an early morning start, Uehara saw her irons bounce off the hard greens, and also three-putted for a bogey on No. 5.

"I had plenty of birdie chances but the putts didn't go in," Uehara said. "There were lots of cleat marks and the ball wasn't rolling true. They really just wouldn't go in.

"I expect there to be changes on the courses after the third round too, so I will try to adapt quickly."
