Right-hander Rick Van Den Hurk has agreed to a three-year contract extension with the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks, the Pacific League champs announced Tuesday.

The deal for the 31-year-old Dutch international is believed to be worth ¥1.2 billion with additional incentives.

Van Den Hurk set a Japan record of 14 straight winning decisions from the start an NPB career, completing the streak last month. He has been deactivated since June 1 for exhaustion, but has resumed throwing in the bullpen.

Van Den Hurk posted an 8-11 record over six major league seasons, and led the Korean Baseball Organization in earned run average in 2014 before joining SoftBank in 2015. His career record in Japan is 15-1 with a 2.89 ERA.
