SAPPORO – Three-time World Cup midfielder Junichi Inamoto will miss the rest of the J. League second-division season after being ruled out for eight months with a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, Consadole Sapporo announced on Monday.
Inamoto, 36, suffered the injury on Saturday in a 2-2 home draw with JEF United Chiba after colliding with an opponent in the first half. He had made eight appearances with one goal for the J2 leaders.
