Kurumi Nara crashed out of the Malaysian Open on Wednesday, falling 6-1, 6-2 to Canada's Eugenie Bouchard.

Bouchard, ranked 52nd in the world and seeded sixth in Kuala Lumpur, served up five aces and never faced a break point against Nara, who is ranked 82nd.

In first-round action late Tuesday night, Japanese qualifier Risa Ozaki defeated Russia's Elizaveta Kulichkova 6-0, 6-2. Ozaki, ranked 133rd in the world, saved all four break points she faced against her 87th-ranked opponent in their 1-hour, 8-minute match. In the second round, Ozaki will face world No. 19 Elina Svitolina.

The Ukrainian second seed dispatched Japanese qualifier Miyu Kato 6-1, 6-1 in just 47 minutes.
