Japan will travel to Colombia for its Davis Cup World Group playoffs tie in September, organizers announced after Tuesday's draw in London.

Japan, which defeated Columbia when the teams met in the playoffs in Tokyo in 2013, is among the seven seeded teams in the round who will be playing away. Among the eight seeds, only Switzerland will be at home.

The playoffs will be held from Sept. 18-20, just days after the completion of the year's final Grand Slam event, the U.S. Open, where Kei Nishikori reached the final last year.

Japan was forced to play for a spot in next year's World Group after losing in the first round to Canada in March.
