Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters cleanup hitter Sho Nakata won Tuesday's battle with teammate Shohei Otani when he had two hits, including a home run off the hard-throwing right-hander in an intrasquad game.

Nakata, who left a preseason game on Saturday with tightness in his right calf, showed no ill effects as he singled in the first inning and took a 154-kph heater out of Nago Municipal Stadium in the fourth.

In the rare confrontation, Nakata showed the poise of his greater experience and waited for the fastball he wanted and got all of it.

"When you stand in against him, he's an amazing pitcher," Nakata said. "You can sense something like an aura from him or how scary he is."
