The Pacific League's Chiba Lotte Marines announced Thursday that they had acquired right-hander Rhee Dae-eun from the Chicago Cubs organization and lefty Chen Kuan-yu from the Central League's Yokohama BayStars.

Rhee, a 25-year-old from South Korea, made 24 starts this year, in a season split between Double-A and Triple-A, with a combined 8-6 record and a 3.42 ERA. Rhee received a one-year deal reportedly worth $450,000 (roughly ¥54 million).

Chen, a 24-year-old from Taiwan, has pitched just 2⅓ innings in the CL, but has a 2.34 ERA over two Eastern League seasons — although 12 of his 32 runs allowed were unearned. Chen's contract, also for a year, is for ¥6 million.
