Japan’s preparations for Saturday’s test against Romania in Bucharest got a boost late Monday with the news that the Brave Blossoms had risen to an all-time high of ninth in the International Rugby Board’s world rankings.
Despite not playing a test since June — the recent games against the Maori All Blacks were not full internationals — Japan jumped two places after Argentina and Samoa both lost over the weekend.
