Aya Sameshima struck in the 93rd minute of the team's final game of the year Tuesday as Nadeshiko Japan defeated Canada 3-2 in a friendly.

Sameshima robbed defender Emily Zurrer in the final minute of injury time before holding her nerve to beat goalkeeper Stephanie Labbe in a one-on-one to hand the world and Asian champions their second win over the hosts in three days.

Asano Nagasato opened the scoring after 33 minutes, but Japan allowed the Canadians to pull level one minute to the hour through a Mizuho Sakaguchi own goal.

Nagasato's older sister, Yuki Ogimi, restored the Japanese lead after 76 minutes, but Canada equalized for a second time before Sameshima dispossessed Zurrer for the last-second winner.
