Chicago Cubs manager Rick Renteria indicated on Thursday that Kyuji Fujikawa, who has been on a rehab assignment with the team's minor league affiliate as he recovers from Tommy John surgery, could make his comeback with the Cubs next Tuesday.

Renteria said the 34-year-old Fujikawa would use all 30 days for his rehab assignment that began on July 6, meaning the right-hander could possibly be back with the top team for a series at Colorado against the Rockies starting Tuesday.

Fujikawa, who underwent the ligament-transplant surgery on his right elbow last June, has registered a 1.80 ERA in five games with Triple-A Iowa this year.
