LONDON – Kei Nishikori, the world’s 12th ranked men’s player, is seeded 10th at Wimbledon this summer, organizers announced Wednesday.
Nishikori’s seeding has dropped one place from his Grand Slam career-best of ninth at this year’s French Open. Unlike the other three major tournaments, Wimbledon does not rely exclusively on each player’s world ranking when assigning seeds for the men’s tournament. Organizers weigh a player’s results on grass over the past two seasons when deciding seeds.
