Kashiwa Reysol missed the chance to move back level on points with J. League leader Yokohama F. Marinos after being held 0-0 away to Vegalta Sendai on Sunday.

Neither team was able to create any clear-cut chances in a tightly contested affair at Yurtec Stadium and the result leaves Kashiwa two points behind Marinos, who came from behind to beat Omiya Ardija thanks to Masashi Oguro's double on Saturday.

Yokohama has 40 points, Kashiwa is in second on 38 while champions Nagoya Grampus moved to third on 36.

Keiji Tamada grabbed a league-leading 10th goal of the season to put Grampus on the way to a 3-0 win at rock bottom Avispa Fukuoka, Jungo Fujimoto and Josh Kennedy also getting their names on the scoresheet.

At Nagai Stadium, Kashima Antlers rebounded from a humiliating 4-1 midweek home defeat to Gamba Osaka by winning 3-1 at Gamba's local rivals Cerezo Osaka.
