Former World Cup midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura will be out for three weeks with a left thigh injury, Yokohama F. Marinos announced Monday.
Captain Nakamura was hurt in Marinos' 1-0 away win over Cerezo Osaka last Wednesday. He was on the bench in a 2-1 defeat to Gamba Osaka at the weekend.
Nakamura, who turns 33 on Friday, had appeared in nine of 11 league matches with one goal for fifth-place Marinos this season. Kazushi Kimura's side hosts Albirex Niigata on Wednesday evening.
