The once-scrapped Asia Series will be held in Taiwan in mid-November, the region's professional baseball governing body said Friday.

A total of four teams from Japan, South Korea, China and Taiwan will play the first round from Nov. 11-13, with the final scheduled for Nov. 15.

Nippon Professional Baseball has decided to send the 2011 Japan Series champion team to the Asia Series.

The Asia Series was played every year between 2005 and 2008 before being replaced by the Japan-South Korea club championship the past two years because of the four-team tournament's financial problems.
