MIAMI (Kyodo) Ryo Ishikawa faltered in the final round Sunday, failing in his bid to finish in the top 10 for the first time on the U.S. PGA Tour after shooting a 6-over 78 at the Cadillac Championship.

Ishikawa slipped out of a share of 16th place after making three birdies, seven bogies and one double bogey for a total of 1-over 289 to end in 42nd, as he faced another day of worry following a devastating earthquake in his country.

The 2009 Japanese money tour leader got off to a rocky start with back-to-back bogeys on the first two holes before a 23-foot birdie on the par-4 third.

He failed to gain any momentum after the turn and sealed his fate with bogeys on Nos. 16 and 17 before needing five shots to reach the green on the 18th.
