The Japan Pro Footballers Association issued fresh pay hike demands for national team players to the Japan Football Association on Thursday, saying it wants them to be rewarded with at least ¥1 million each for every win.

In addition, the JPFA, which has decided to unionize as it continues to fight for a bigger slice of the cake, is asking for the team to be paid 50 percent of tournament prize money and also wants the JFA to establish a retirement package system.

The JFA, which currently issues a daily allowance of ¥10,000 plus performance bonuses to players, has lambasted the JPFA's drive for a pay rise that it sees as "excessive."
