Mika Miyazato hopes to build on her strong second season on the U.S. LPGA Tour.

"This is the year for me to step up," the 21-year-old told a press conference in Tokyo on Wednesday. "I'll try to pick up my first career win on the U.S. tour and break into the top 10 in the money rankings. Those are my goals for 2011."

Last year, the lesser known Miyazato posted a career-best finish in placing third at the Arkansas Championship in September and finished 17th in the money rankings, up from 49th in her rookie season of 2009.

She also captured the first title of her professional career in October, winning the Japan Women's Open, one of the Japan LPGA Tour's four major tournaments.

The U.S. LPGA season will get under way with the Honda LPGA Thailand beginning Feb. 17.
